At Tallis Architecture we are committed to creating strong relationships with clients; we understand that building an inclusive and collaborative process, creates better buildings.
Drawing from experience in institutional, commercial and residential projects, we operate across a range of disciplines, including: architecture and interior design, urban design and master planning, project management and cost planning.
The design values of the practice are contemporary with an honest expression created through clarity and efficiency of materials, allowing the architecture to uniquely reflect the values and goals of our clients.
The environment is a major driver for the practice. A particular interest in a contextual approach and the technical understanding of environmental sustainable design, positions Tallis Architecture to be a leader in a sustainable future.

As founding Director with over 20 years’ experience, John is able to offer a vast array of knowledge and thinking to clients. His experience spans from small residential houses to highly technical laboratory buildings of budgets more than $1 billion.
As an architect, John has dedicated a career to problem solving developing solutions that can be admired for their level of depth in both philosophical and contextual responses. John’s passion for the environment is a major driver in much of his work. His technical understanding of Environmental Sustainable Design and Passive Haus Certification equip him to be a leader in a sustainable future.
Christopher has been active in construction industry for over 40 years. He has worked, on Site Administration, Project Management and Estimating, Cost Planning and Quantity Surveying, in both Australia and overseas with each of Lend Lease and Rider Levett Bucknall. His experience ranges from $110k residential cottages to $10 billion, kilometre tall towers.
Julie is a registered Architect who holds a Masters of Architecture graduating with First Class honours and receiving the Deans Honours Award for academic achievement.
Julie has been involved in a diverse range of project types and thrives on the collaboration with clients, suppliers and consultants from the commencement to the completion of projects.
Her folio includes single storey residential, large scale multi residential and also a number of local government projects including library upgrades, community centres, sporting pavilions and kindergarten upgrades.
Kevin is a passionate and energetic Student of Architecture. He is currently undertaking his Masters of Architecture at the University of Melbourne. During his studies he participated in a university initiative to investigate different urban fabrics of various major capital cities around the world to identify opportunities within Melbourne’s urban fabric where lessons learned could be utilised.
Kevin’s passion lies within the process of design, where he seeks to design innovative and sustainable spaces. Kevin hopes to redefine the role architecture plays in the creation of sustainable environments.

As sole principal and architect, John Tallis is the driving force behind each and every project. Operating in private practice since 2006, John has developed a range of projects that demonstrate his ability to create great architecture. With almost 20 years experience, John is able to draw from broad range of disciplines and projects.
