The plan is developed around two distinct pods allowing for separation of the spaces, and creating a void from which to enter. At the elevated entry there is a choice of upstair or down, whilst the view beyond ever beckon the visitor upstairs to the more public spaces of living and dining.
Within the pods spaces are prioritized and balanced for the need of solar gain and the individual function and amenity that the room demands. The forms are read from inside to outside, as the external aesthetic extends through the entry-breezeway creating a strong delineation of the spaces from within.
Articulation of the form reflects the need for good passive ventilation, combined with significant thermal mass negates the need for any mechanical air-conditioning. All solar gain is tempered and controlled via shading devices extending the thermal comfort, providing greater privacy and subtly of natural light.
